Clash of the Titans DorkFest

So I’m a big fan of the cult classic that is Clash of the Titans. I mean, if you grew up in the 80s and 90s, I don’t know how you couldn’t be a fan. It was awesomely bad but in a good way.  Now they’ve remade it into a mega-blockbuster for modern times and there I am again, a nerdy teenager sitting on my couch watching Harry Hamlin in a skirt with a tin shield and a pretend sword battling a chick having a really bad hair day. Okay, so this time it’s the guy from Avatar instead of Harry Hamlin and the stop motion claymation has been replaced with actual special effects. Whatevs…it’s still awesome bad.

The reviews have been surprisingly good considering and that’s good enough for me to take out a second mortgage on my house so that I can afford to see it in 3D. Is anyone else baffled by how much it costs to go see a movie these days? I may bypass the 3D anyway as I’ve heard that it’s not worth the extra money. According to the review on E!Online, “the only thing that really pops out is the end credits.”

But first, I must do as I always do when it comes to remakes and watch the original. It’s been too long and I can watch it instantly thanks to Netflix. Then I’ll be hitting up Potomac Mills to catch the 2010 redo.

See you at the movies!
