Holy Cat Fight!!!
So the Real Housewives of New York has finally graced us with its gloriousness again. Someone asked me recently which city of all the Housewives was my favorite and at the time, I couldn’t answer. But now, I can truly say New York is my one true love.
Orange County was entertaining at first but their dramas are getting old to me. Atlanta has its own brand of insanity that drags you in, but for some reason (at least for me), there is nothing like the drama of the NYC girls.
I must say that I was surprised by a few elements of the first episode. One that Bethenny seems to be on the outs with almost everyone. I’m sad that she and Jill are fighting because I love their chemistry together as friends. They make me LOL. But from what I saw in the first episode as to the reason things fell apart, I can see both sides of the story. I hope that they eventually make up, though unfortunately, the preview of the season to come doesn’t seem to hint at a reconciliation.
Another surprise is how everyone is giving crazy pants, Kelly Bensimon, another shot at friendship. Something is seriously wrong with that woman. Half the time she doesn’t even make sense. “I want to find a Robin to my Batman”??? What is she even talking about???? I think it’s only a matter of time before she starts speaking gibberish again and everyone turns on her. I’m not even sure if she’s sober half the time that she’s on screen. Can you get high on self tanner? Seriously, that would explain a lot.
Then there is crazier pants, Ramona. Did anyone else see those eyes in the preview when she was walking down the runway? First of all, who would ask her to model for them? Scaring people with your crazy eyed models is not going to sell any clothes. They’re going to be looking at her googly eyes, not the dress. And she obviously still hasn’t learned to control her mouth. There are people like Bethenny who are funny and snarky and she speaks the plain old ugly truth which some people can handle and some people can’t. Mostly people love her because she can diffuse most any situation with humor. Then there are people like Ramona who aren’t funny, they’re just weird. And when the truth comes flying out her mouth, it hits you like a baseball bat to the forehead.
For once Alex doesn’t seem to be the center of everyone’s ire and I don’t remember even seeing a flash of her husband in the previews for the season. I doubt he can stay away from the limelight for more than a few episodes but I won’t mind not seeing them as much. Together, they are really creepy. Alex alone – still creepy, but a little more tolerable. *shrug*
Oh, I almost forgot the Countess. *eye roll* For someone who claims to know so much about class and etiquette, I feel that her manners are sorely lacking. Is it really classy to talk and fight about money? My family is the definition of middle class and I would never in a million years ask someone if they were covering my tab. I always assume that wherever I go, I pay my own way. Maybe when you have tons of money and you hang out with other people with tons of money, it is expected that when you have an event or invite someone somewhere that they pay. But you have to adjust your etiquette and your thinking to the people that you are socializing with. Bethenny is nowhere near on the same financial level as you, so why in the world would she be expected to pay for you for anything? So maybe the two of you should have chatted about the surfing situation last season instead of Bethenny making a snarky comment behind your back. But how classless was it for you to open the conversation at the restaurant with that opening line?
BTW - who is that blonde chick who they kept showing in the preview? Is she a new housewife that they plan to introduce later?
I guess we’ll just have to watch and see…
