Splitsville!
Some of the melodrama from Kate Winslet’s many onscreen roles has apparently seeped into her personal life. According to AP, the Oscar winning actress has split from her Oscar winning director hubby, Sam Mendes. No word yet on who filed for divorce and why. There was only confirmation from a law firm that the couple separated earlier this year. Hmmmm….very interesting, I say.
I saw her interviewed briefly on the red carpet at the Oscars and I didn’t see any indication that there was anything out of the ordinary going on with her. She went stag but that didn’t seem all that unusual considering she has two young(ish) children and a husband in the business. I just figured he was working. Anyway, she looked stunning as usual and talked pleasantly about her family before moving into the ceremony. Makes you wonder if this hasn’t been in the works for some time. But then again, she is an actress. A great one at that.
