Water for Elephants is Coming to the Big Screen
So Robert Pattinson got a haircut. I say bravo because that strange pompadour on his head was not hot. I still don’t get what all those teenage girls see in him but whatevs. This coming from someone who grew up crushing on the likes of Leonard DiCaprio, NKOTB, the Backstreet Boys, N’Sync, etc. etc. So who am I to throw stones?
Anyway, it seems RPatz didn’t just cut his hair because he finally realized how lame he looked. Turns out, he did it (shocker) for a movie role. Good ol’ Rob will be starring in the film adaptation of Water for Elephants with Reese Witherspoon as his leading lady and since he didn’t get the role as the ringmaster, there was no need for the flamboyant hair.
I read Sara Gruen’s book in November of 2007 and though I can’t say that I was overly impressed with it, it was an easy, entertaining read. I liked the book overall. The only thing that I didn’t care for was the ending. I felt like the rest of the book was wonderfully descriptive, but that the ending was cut short. It was as if she got bored and then decided to summarize instead of continue with her wonderfully vivid storytelling. And like lackluster endings sometimes do, it stunted my overall impression of the book.
If you haven’t read the book, give it a try. You’ll probably like it. In the meantime, I’ll be keeping my eye open for the movie reviews when it is released sometime in 2011.
