You may have seen our announcements in the Messenger or around Prince William County, but we still are in great need of host families this summer!
We have a summer language day camp in Manassas, and we are looking for 2-Week host families for some of our boys and girls from China. We have a great group of students coming this year, but we don’t have enough host families right now. I am trying to work with local organizations to spread the word so that everyone can still come!
Here is some more information:
The Astar Education Institute of Manassas is looking for families interested in hosting a boy or girl from China for 2 weeks. Our students are middle school and high school aged Chinese boys and girls. They will attend our camp during the day Monday-Friday.
Dates:
Session A: July 13th-July 27th
Session B: July 25th-August 8th
* Families are invited to host for either or both sessions
Compensation: Please note that all families will be compensated $300 for each student per session to cover any costs, (EG $600 if you host 1 student for A&B) or we can offer an opportunity for your child to travel to China with us in 2011.
Hosting an exchange student is a great opportunity to make a difference in your community and in a student’s life! If you have a spare bed, please consider hosting a camper.
Host family provides one bed, 3 meals daily (Lunch is a snack) and transfer students to Astar School before 9:30am and pick them up at 4:30pm from Monday to Friday. * If transportation is a problem, please let us know so we have time to arrange a carpool or pickup from the PWCT station in Manassas.
