After one quarter of play, the game is still tied 7-7.

Like Thursday’s game between Gar-Field and Potomac, this contest has been marred and slowed by numerous pre-snap penalties on both sides. Not to mention an 18-minute blackout.

With just less than a minute to go in the first quarter, the stadium lights turned off, darkening the field.

The score is tied 7-7 with a Forest Park touchdown on the opening kickoff, a 94-yard return by Troy Tyler. Osbourn scored when Vidal Greene ran 34 yards to the end zone.

We’ll update when the game resumes.

A recap of these two teams:
-Osbourn is the defending Northwest Region champs and finished last season 9-5. They return 14 starters from that team including quarterback-receiver tandem of the Keith brothers, Thomas and Timmy.
-Forest Park lost all but three starters from a Bruins club that finished the year 4-6. Jared Johnston takes over at quarterback, providing a dual threat under center.
