Day One Preview

It’s day one of the Democratic National Convention in Denver.  We had our first Virginia delegation breakfast this morning to get credentials and discuss logistics for the day.  Governor Warner told us that the Virginia delegation will have a very prominent position on the convention floor—just behind the Illinois delegation!  That clearly shows how important Virginia is for the November election for Barack Obama!

The keynote speaker for tonight is Michelle Obama.  There will be a video tribute to Senator Ted Kennedy.  The Senator is in Denver and may make a personal appearance.

In the spirit of full disclosure, this convention is not just hard work and long speeches.  Last night, delegates were treated to an outstanding concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, featuring Virginia’s own Dave Matthews and Sheryl Crowe.  Governor Kaine introduced Dave Matthews and talked about the important opportunity we have this fall to change America.
