CNN has Obama at 194 and McCain at 69. This is significant because no Republican has ever won the White House without winning Ohio. This isn’t to say that the game is over and Obama has won. We still cannot say. But things are not looking great for McCain right now. 270 minus 194 equals 76, and that is how many more electoral votes Obama needs to win.

And things are moving so quickly now that in the time it took me to write that last paragraph, the ticker moved and Obama is now at 199 and McCain at 78. 71 electoral votes to go for Obama. Quite a few more for McCain if he wants to win.
