Some more CNN numbers

CNN has Obama at 102 electoral votes and McCain still at 34. I’m not going to try to keep a running tally of which states are going to which… if you are reading this then, no doubt, you are also checking out other sites to get the latest tallies. I will just keep you up to date with the latest electoral vote numbers.
In Virginia, we still have not heard about the race between the Chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Democrat Gerry Connolly, and his Republican opponent, Keith Fimian. They are running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Tom Davis, a Republican. We endorsed Connolly because we thought his experience and expertise surpassed that of Keith Fimian. Now we are just waiting to see if the voters agree with us.
We are also waiting for results on the race between Rep. Frank Wolf, a Republican, and Democrat Judy Feder. We chose Wolf for that race because his 28 years of experience and his ideas, plans and attentiveness to his constituents, lead us to believe that he continues to be the man for the job. When we know the results of this race, you will too.
Finally, the Manassas Park City Council elections are still up in the air.
Mayor Frank Jones, running as an independent, is unnopposed, so we think it is safe to call the race for him.
This also goes for Suhas Naddoni, a Democrat. He is running for a two year term on the council and is unnopposed.
That leaves Brian Leeper, a Republican, and Peter Farrell, a Democrat, challenging the three incumbents, Bryan Polk, Bill Treuting and Keith Miller, who are all running as independents. There are three seats and five contenders. We wanted to keep Polk and Miller, and replace Treuting with Leeper. Not that we have anything against Treuting, we just thought Leeper would bring some new blood and a questioning attitude to the council. We will see what Manassas Park voters think. Stay tuned.
